SuiteWorld 2012 – Day 2 – The Windy City

Sunday 13th of May, 2012.
Timezone: PST
Today was a welcome but ultimately unexciting day for our trip. Having settled in to our apartment we started with breakfast at a local eatery and ended up walking round in circles for a while as we investigated the area. We also made a quick trip to Los Altos to make sure we knew where we were going for our meeting with the team from Box on Monday as well as making sure we knew where the Marriott Marquis was on 4th Street. I have to say my first impressions of California were not favourable – I had heard that San Francisco was the better version of Los Angeles so I dread to think what that city is like. Perhaps I’m spoilt by living in what used to be considered the “Gun Capital of England”.
The rest of the day was spent trying to understand why SOMA streets run at a 45 degree angle to NOMA streets and as I am still ignorant of the answer to this question if anyone out there knows: please tell me why because ignorance is not something I enjoy!
We went over our meeting schedule again for the rest of the week and put some finishing touches on our presentation and turned off for the night.
This SuiteWorld lark, it was going to be a breeze.
